PRESCREENING OF RAW/CRUDE MEDICINAL PRODUCTS FOR NEW THERAPEUTICS

Africa First, LLC is inviting research institutions and pharmaceutical companies around the globe, which are specifically interested in partnering with traditional health practitioners in medical research and drug discovery activities, to contribute scientific and technical support to ensure that this prescreening program achieves its objectives.

One of the core objectives of this 4th Global Summit is to search and identify for further research and development into drugs and supplements, both documented and undocumented traditional/alternative medicines and healing practices, which are efficacious, safe and affordable, for nutrition, prevention and treatment of the following chronic diseases:

HIV/AIDS, malaria,

tuberculosis,

cancer,

sickle cell,

diabetes,

heart disease,

hypertension,

stroke and

mental disorders, etc.

Accordingly, the conference hereby invites traditional healers and researchers who have claims to unproven and undocumented remedies for the above and other debilitating diseases to submit their crude and raw medicinal materials to Africa First, LLC by June 30, 2010 so that such raw materials can be analyzed by the Centre for Scientific Research Into Plant Medicine, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and other reputable local or international research institutions to determine efficacy, physicochemical and safety, at the cost of the conference.

This exercise is intended to establish, ahead of the beginning of the conference, the scientific existence, potency and safety of such new therapeutics for introduction into the proceedings of the conference in order to enlist consideration from health policy makers, stakeholders, research institutions, pharmaceutical companies and entrepreneurs for the appropriate research funding to develop such newer therapeutics into safe consumable drugs for use by human beings.
