The travel itinerary is as follows: Day One – Thursday, July 29, 2010 Departure to Accra, Ghana, from any of the major European and United States airports on either South African Airlines, British Airways, Delta Airlines, Air France or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Day Two - Friday, July 30, 2010 Arrival of guests in Accra, Ghana overnight at Fiesta Royale Hotel or similar depending upon time of arrival. Day Three - Saturday, July 31, 2010 Transfer to Cape Coast, Central Region by road and check in at Coconut Grove Hotel or Elmina Beach Resort. Day Four - Sunday, August 1, 2010 Celebration of 2010 Emancipation Day Day Five - Monday, August 2, 2010 Commencement of conference Day Six - Tuesday, August 3, 2010 Continuation of Conference Day Seven - Wednesday, August 4, 2010 Continuation of Conference Day Seven - Thursday, August 5, 2010 Conclusion of Conference Day Eight - Friday, August 6, 2010 Transfer to Accra for departure Passports: Each person traveling to Ghana is required to hold a valid passport. Health: 4 to 6 weeks before departure, each member of the group should check with his/her primary health care provider to get vaccinated against Yellow Fever, Hepatitis A, Malaria and typhoid. A valid international yellow fever vaccination certificate is required as proof of vaccination within the past three years; and sometimes, when there is a cholera outbreak, a cholera shot is also required. You are also advised to consult your doctor well in advance of your visit so that you may begin the usual malaria treatment.
